Ross was the player who previewed the St Johnstone v Aberdeen game. He spoke to the media on Wednesday:

“The Aberdeen fans have been tremendous since I have come up here.

“The messages I have had, I am very grateful for it. They have been really good with me. It is up to me to pay them back with good performances and help create a successful Aberdeen team.”

“I am delighted to be here. I am buzzing to get up here. The facilities are absolutely brilliant. They are outstanding.

“I am really looking forward to the challenge.

“I am looking forward to the game tomorrow. We have not played in a little while due to circumstances so all the boys are looking forward to it as well.

“Everything happened quite quickly. I came up on Monday morning, I was hoping to training on Monday but the paperwork took a little while to get through but we got it done late in the evening and I was then able to train on Tuesday with the boys.

“It is a great bunch of boys up here. I have played against them or played with them at international level. Many of the boys I have played against right through our youth academy days.

“Aberdeen fans will have seen me play before and they know I can play in a number of different positions. I like to think of myself as someone who will help the team, any way I can. I will do whatever the gaffer wants me to do. But I don’t like speaking about myself too much. I prefer to let people judge me by my performances.

“It was not a difficult decision. It is my career and I have to do the best I can for myself. Coming to Aberdeen was the best option for my career and the best pathway for me. I feel the gaffer here is the best man to develop me. Aberdeen is the best place for me to go and show what I can do.

“I want to do something special with the club. It is up to me to go and play well, and help the team achieve something and be successful.

“At any big club there is going to be competition. That competition for places is what creates success within the team. You need that to push each other on. That can only be a good thing. We will all push each other, we will all help each other throughout the season. We will need a big squad because there are a lot of games.

“It is a big game for us against St Johnstone after the break the team have had. We have some catching up to. We want to get off to a good start, hopefully put in a good performance and get he three points.”
