Ahead of the second league game of the season, new AFC Women co-manager Gavin Beith spoke to RedTV to preview our game with Partick Thistle and how his first week in his new role has been. To watch in full, please click on the red button.

“It has been a busy week for myself since coming in last Thursday and getting to meet all of the girls for the first time. The game on Sunday was a big occasion for everyone, it was a great turnout. It has been busy but very enjoyable.

“The facilities here at Cormack Park are absolutely fantastic. It is everything that you need. It is an environment where you hope players love to be, which I am sure that they do. There are no excuses for anyone when they come here to train and to give it their all.

“It has been a positive start for the season if you include the cup games. The players have been confident and happy with the way that they have performed. One of the aims was to get out of the group stages of the cup which we have done. It is something for us to build on.

“There is fantastic depth in the squad and they are all in it together. They are all in it for one another. You need a big squad for the times that we are in at the moment. They have been fantastic and great to work with.

“It will be a difficult game on Sunday against Partick who were promoted alongside ourselves.  We played them not so long ago so we will know roughly what their style of play is albeit both sides have made a couple of signings since then. They are a very hard working, organised and powerful team but like every game we have to focus on ourselves. We are aware of them, we know what their threats are but we need to concentrate to make sure that we look after ourselves and we will do everything that we are good at as well as we possibly can on the day.”
