“I have settled in well. I found a nice apartment and moved in there last week. As a club, everyone has been very welcoming and helpful. The club has opened their arms to me and took me in.

“And the weather is still nice at the moment! I believe it might not stay like that?!

“On the pitch, Scotland is not that different from what I experienced in England. The European games were obviously quite different.

“Every country you go to, you just want to play football.

“I have not really been told I have a specific role in the side this season. Things can change. At the moment I am the holding midfielder and the coaches want me to get the ball into the wide areas and also dictate the pace of the team.

“The Rijeka game, that was my first red card in a professional game.

“Obviously I was really disappointed with those 20 minutes and I was embarrassed and ashamed as well. I am not looking at the referee. I am looking at myself. I look back at it and I was not sharp enough in that game. I was late. If the referee gives a yellow it is a yellow.

“The bookings I have had so far this season, two of them were helping out, breaking off an attack. The other ones were just a lack of sharpness. That is it.

“I think after the Rijeka game a lot of players needed some rest as I did not help them out by getting sent off after 20 minutes. They had a lot of miles in their legs after that game and then at Dundee the surface did not help because it was a heavy pitch with the really heavy rain before kick-off. Everyone was feeling it a bit and overall the performance was not what anyone wanted but we got the result. In the end, if we make the final in December then no one will remember this game.

“After we got our rest in this week we then worked on some things in training. We worked on positioning, sharpness and getting ready for tomorrow.

“I have spoken to the staff and the players about the artificial surface. I really don’t mind it. I am used to it. A lot of academies in Holland start on artificial pitches. So I really don’t mind it and kind of like it. I don’t think you want to play on it every week but once in a while is ok because the ball goes straight. If it is a bad pass it is you. You can’t blame the pitch.

“So I am looking forward to the game.”
