Dons in Georgia | Jon on RedTV
“I am loving it so far.
“Every day is getting better and better as I get more familiar with the city and the team.
“Really enjoying it.
“On and off the field my new team mates have made my job easy for me.
“On the pitch I like to go and get into space and be a bit freer and thankfully the guys sitting around me made that easy. I thought we worked well together, there were a lot of moving pieces but thankfully it has been pretty smooth so far.
“Hopefully the manager can see that I can do a job in multiple spots and I will play wherever he needs me.
“It will be a longer flight that Finland but I am looking forward to another trip. I heard it is nice and warm there!
“It is something I am used to. The heat down in Atlanta was pretty extreme so thankfully I am a bit more accustomed to it.
“The club is in a good spot at the moment se we just have to try and keep the momentum going.
“We have been learning about our opponents.
“The manager has set us up in training with the way he wants us to play. We have tried to identify the areas where we can hurt them.
“In the last round we dug ourselves a hole with losing the late goal in the first match and then conceding straight away in Finland. But thankfully the goal came early and I thought we were pretty dominant for the next twenty or so minutes and we were rewarded with the penalty which Sam converted.
“When we scored late on, I think I was playing left back at the time. I saw we had a chance to score so I took off and was waiting for a pass from Lewis! I was screaming for it but thankfully he scored and there was a sigh of relief when the ball hit the net. We knew at that point we were going on to the next round.
“I feel there is a quiet confidence amongst the team. Obviously we don’t want to look too far ahead, we are taking it one game at a time, but I think we are set up perfectly and it is now about whether or not we can perform.”
