The Captain on RedTV
Skipper Graeme Shinnie led the Dons from the front at Dingwall on Tuesday, even scoring a goal that would have been a strong contender for the ‘goal of the season’ competitions, only to see it correctly disallowed for offside.
“I have been robbed me of a dream goal! – when am I ever going to do that again?!
“At the time, I couldn’t understand why the flag had gone up, but Clarkie was offside in the build up a long time before. I wish he’d flagged earlier and stopped me scoring it instead of having it taken away later! The referee did explain why they need to let the play continue.
“The important thing was getting the win.
“We’ve won three out of four now which isn’t bad, but obviously last Saturday wasn’t anywhere near good enough so it was important that we did things right in this one.
“You can’t affect what’s gone, you can only go forward and make amends, and that’s what we looked to do at Ross County.
“We were excellent from the first whistle to the last, and we were well deserving of the win.
“Three goals is great, the clean sheet is massive for us as we have not had enough of them this season. It’s maybe a pity there’s not another game straight away to build on it. But we will use the break as a chance to rest and refocus ahead of the second half of the season.”
