Barry Robson | Livingston Press Conference

Refresh

Barry Robson carried out his usual pre-match media duties on Tuesday lunchtime as he previewed our cinch Premiership match with Livingston. RedTV subscribers can watch in full now.

“Well, I think the players have bounced back relatively quickly. The boys have been in today and they’ve been good. We went through bits of the Final and in football you need to move on quickly. We’ve got a big game, just like all the rest of them. We are really looking forward to it. They are a good group who want to do well for the football club and they’ve always been really positive. We can’t wait to get going again. It’s good when a game comes around again really quickly. It’s a home game, we’ve got the fans behind us and it is a game we want to go and try and win.

“When you look back after the emotion of the game and you look back at some of the things that we could have done better in the game. I also think there wasn’t much in the game. We were structurally quite good, we pressed them quite well. We lacked that wee bit at the end of the pitch on the day. As I said there wasn’t much between the two teams in the end and I’m just frustrated for the fans that travelled down because we really wanted to win it for them and we just fell short.

“Bojan is fine. He was fine last week and it was never an issue. It was just a bit of fatigue. It wasn’t like there was a real injury there, it was just a bit of fatigue. He trained a couple of days before the final so he’s perfectly fine. Jack MacKenzie was back on the training pitch today. So we’ll see how he reacts after the training session today and tomorrow. Rubi is suspended but apart from that everyone else is okay.

“Livingston are the type of team that we’ve had to come up against this year. You’re coming up against some real top end teams where you might have to sacrifice a bit of possession and then you’ve got to break other teams down in different games. Transition is always a big part of it. A lot lot of goals are scored by even your top teams on transition. Tactically the systems are a bit different. A lot of times we’ve been really brave by going two up top, sometimes we went to a box but we’ve dropped other players, our wingbacks really high. We just have to make sure that we get good players in good areas and try and create lots of chances because I think that is something that we do as a team, we create a lot of chances. As I said the transitions are always important wherever you are, whoever you are, whatever team you are.”
