GAC
Official Women's and Girls' Academy Sleeve Sponsor
Shipping, logistics and marine service provider GAC UK has renewed its strategic partnership with Aberdeen FC, extending their Official Sleeve Sponsorship of the AFC Women’s team to include the Girls’ Academy.
Part of the GAC Group, GAC UK has diversified its support of the Dons this season with the new collaboration which will see the GAC brand feature prominently on the left sleeve of the AFC Women’s team and all AFC Girls’ Academy teams. The company has supported the Club since 2019.
The sponsorship underlines GAC UK’s continued commitment to the development of women’s football in the north-east by supporting clear pathways for girls and women to pursue professional football. It aligns with the company’s philosophy of promoting equal opportunities for all, in sport and in business.
In that spirit, GAC UK’s Aberdeen office – which provides crucial ship agency and logistics services to the energy sector – will continue its outreach work, securing the city’s annual ‘Fair Play for All – energising the community’ event in the partnership programme for the next three years.
“By supporting the Girls’ Academy, we are helping to cement a solid career pathway for the next generation of first team players,” says Nicholas Browne, Managing Director at GAC UK.
“What’s more, the relationship is aligned with GAC UK’s mission, vision and values, placing our sustainability strategy at the heart of the partnership, promoting equal opportunities for everyone – on and off the pitch.”
Gary Herbert, Business Development Manager at Aberdeen FC, looks forward to fostering relations with GAC as this collaborative partnership continues to grow: “We are excited to continue our journey with GAC as our Official Women’s and Girls Academy Sleeve Sponsor. Their ongoing support is invaluable to us, and together, we are committed to driving the development of women’s football, helping to foster the next generation of female footballers.
“This partnership both enhances our teams’ visibility and reinforces our shared values of diversity and inclusivity. We’re proud to embark on this renewed journey with GAC, helping to empower young female athletes and elevating the status of women’s football.”
