Dabbagh Is A Don
Palestinian international striker Oday Dabbagh has joined on loan from Belgium club Charleroi, with the Club securing an option to buy.
The 26-year-old striker, who has been capped forty-five times by Palestine, will travel to the North-east once visa and immigration formalities are complete.
Dons boss, Jimmy Thelin, is pleased to see his attacking options bolstered ahead of the transfer window closing tonight.
He said: “Oday is a clinical finisher who has an exceptional work ethic and his combative qualities will be a real asset for us.
“He has a strong personality, both on and off the pitch, and we believe he will be a positive addition, adding another dimension to our attacking options as we work to get back to winning ways.”
Oday began his career with hometown club Hilal Al-Quds before moving to Kuwait to sign for Al-Salmiya, Qadsia, Al-Yarmouk and then Al-Arabi where he became the league’s top scorer.
He moved to Europe for the first time when he signed for Portuguese side Arouca in 2021 and following a spell there he signed for Charleroi on a three-year deal in 2023 and has played 15 times in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League this season.
Commenting on his move, Oday said: “I am very happy to be joining AFC and look forward to meeting my teammates, the coaches and people around the Club.
“I am looking forward to the challenge and I am hopeful that I will re-pay the trust everyone has shown in me with good performances for the team.”
