Assistant coach Emir Bajrami has had to resign from his position due to a family issue back in Sweden.

The 36-year-old joined the Dons in the summer, alongside fellow assistant Christer Persson, to form part of Jimmy Thelin’s backroom staff.

“The situation is very difficult and very unfortunate, but we totally understand and respect the decision Emir has had to make,” Thelin said.

“We would all do the same in his position and we wish him, and his family, all the very best for the future.

“All of our focus at the moment is getting back to winning ways and strengthening the squad in the January window, and then we will look at the coaching situation when that period is over.”

Everyone at Aberdeen Football Club would like to thank Emir for his time at Pittodrie and wish him every success in his career.
