Aberdeen FC Women can today confirm the signing of midfielder Ellie May Cowie who joins the Dons on a one-and-a-half-year contract from Dundee United.

The 23-year-old midfielder heads North following half a season at United, after spending 15 years prior at St Johnstone.

During the 2023/2024 campaign Cowie scored 16 times in 25 outings for the Perth side, claiming a number of personal accolades for her performances.

Cowie netted an excellent solo goal for Dundee United at the Balmoral Stadium against the Dons earlier this campaign for what was her first SWPL1 strike.

The versatile midfielder goes straight into Scott Booth’s squad and is available for Sunday’s game against Glasgow City, subject to Scottish FA approval.
