The Dons on International Duty
After a busy couple of months in the league and cup, the domestic season takes a backseat as we look ahead to the first international fixtures of the 2024/25 season. From Wembley to the National Stadium in Malta, six of our Dons will be away representing their home nations over the next 10 days, here is a lowdown of who is involved:
Jack Milne – Scotland U21s
Jack received his first call up at this level in the summer and made his debut when he came off the bench in a narrow friendly defeat to Turkey in Istanbul. Scot Gemmill’s side sit second in their qualifying group, three points behind Spain who they play at Tynecastle Park on Friday before travelling to play Malta next Tuesday who sit bottom of the group.

Alfie Bavidge & Fletcher Boyd – Scotland U19s
Alife and Fletcher have both been named in the Scotland U19 squad for three friendly matches to be played in Spain. The pair will work under newly appointed manager Neil MacFarlane who replaced former Dons striker Billy Stark who left the SFA in the summer. Alife, who last week joined Ayr United on loan, has been capped 12 times for Scotland at this age group, scoring once while Fletcher has received his first call up at this level.

Topi Keskinen – Finland
After joining the Dons from HJK Helsinki last month, Topi has been named in the Finland squad for the first time for their UEFA Nations League double header with Greece and England. Topi has been capped at eight times for the Finland U21 squad, scoring twice.

Dimitar Mitov – Bulgaria
Fresh from his outstanding penalty save against Ross County at the weekend, Dimi has been included in the Bulgaria squad as they begin their UEFA Nations League qualifying group with games against Belarus and Northern Ireland. Dimi made his international debut last September and has three caps for Bulgaria.

Slobodan Rubezic – Montenegro
Rubi is back with the Montenegro squad after making an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign. Despite missing the majority of the second half of the league campaign with the Dons last campaign, Rubi did manage to play twice for this national side in the summer, against Belgium and Georgia, and he now has five caps for Montenegro, scoring once. Rubi sat down with RedTV this week to discuss his national team call up and the first couple of months of the new season.
