Francesca Ogilvie has signed an extended deal with the Dons that will see her remain at the Club until 2026.

The left sided midfielder was one of the first players to sign a semi-professional contract in 2022 and was confirmed as the team’s vice-captain for the 2023-2024 season.

Having joined Aberdeen from Cove Rangers, the 22-year-old quickly established herself as a regular in the team, after making her debut in SWFL Division 1 – North in April 2019. The talented youngster then played her part as the AFC Women’s team enjoyed to back-to-back promotions before consolidating their position in the Scottish Women’s Premier League in recent seasons.

A Scotland Internationalist at Under 19 level, Francesca has since made 130 appearances in a red shirt, scoring 57 goals.

With pre-season having kicked off under new manager Colin Bell, Francesca is eagerly anticipating the start of the new season. She said: “I’m delighted to be here for another two years.

“After speaking to Colin and hearing his vision for Aberdeen I knew it was something I wanted to be part of. He’s ready to hit the ground running which is the attitude we need.

“He made it clear I am someone he wants to work with and he will help to get the best out of me. With his vast experience it’s a real positive for the entire squad.

“We know where we want to be and I can’t wait to get started.”
