On Saturday we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our partner charity, Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) Day at Pittodrie when the Dons hosted Hibernian and to mark this special occasion, we organised the Biggest Kids Tifo the UK has ever seen in the Richard Donald Stand Upper.

Thank you to all the young fans, families who took part in brining the Tifo to life and making it happen.

A special thank you to our 20 Dons Day Out groups who also participated in the Biggest Kids Tifo on Saturday and made their voices heard by roaring on the Dons throughout the whole match. All together the groups raised a staggering £10,000!

We are always looking at ways to attract and bring the next generation to Pittodrie and its days like Saturday that brings this to life and we cannot wait for more opportunities like this in the future, to bring more colour and atmosphere to Pittodrie.

Stephen McCormick, Supporter Experience Manager, explains – “We had a fantastic response for the Dons day out, so I thought this was a great opportunity for our young fans to be part of something very special with the largest kids Tifo to date in the UK. I also think it is important to share stories with our young fans from our past, and to celebrate famous supporters or players, and this is why we had the large Norman Goldie banner as the centrepiece to the Tifo in the RDU. Norman was known as Mr Aberdeen and was a well-known character for many years to fellow Dons fans.

Over the years I have followed the good work I have seen across Europe at clubs such as Hamburg, and Copenhagen with young fans and kids’ clubs, and I think we have the making of something very special here in Aberdeen. And to all families and young fans who enjoyed the colour and atmosphere in the Richard Donald Stand upper, it is only going to get bigger and better in the family sections.”
