Young midfielders sign new deals
Two Aberdeen youngsters have today signed new contracts that will see them remain at the club until at least 2026.
Midfielders Dylan Lobban and Alfie Stewart have both captained the Development and U18 sides respectively this season, and the new deals are a reward for their commitment, hard work and the quality they have shown in training and in games.
After almost a decade at the club, Dylan was a standout throughout his time in the Youth Academy and came in as a full-time professional in 2021.
The Westhill youngster also attended the SFA Performance School.
The 18-year-old was recalled from his loan spell at Formartine United earlier this month and has since joined cinch League Two side Forfar Athletic until the end of the season.
The central midfielder has represented Scotland at U17, U18 and U19 level.
Alfie has been with Aberdeen for eight and a half years and graduated from the Academy in 2022.
He attended Newtonhill Primary School before going on to the SFA Performance School at Hazlehead.
Although he started as a left-back, Alfie played most of his youth football as a central midfielder but can also play on the right or as a number 10.
As well as leading the 18s to the quarter-finals of the SFA Youth Cup, where they will play St Johnstone at home on Tuesday, the Newtonhill youngster has impressed when playing for the Development side in their various cup games this season.
Both boys are lifelong Aberdeen fans and everyone at AFC wishes them well in their continuing journeys.
