International Dons | November Round-Up
As the final international break of the year comes to a close, we look back on the Dons who were away with their respective nations over the past week:
Connor Barron & Ryan Duncan – Scotland U21s
Connor captained Scotland U21s in both of their games against Belgium and Hungary as they came away with four points in a tough away double header in their UEFA EURO 2025 qualifying group. The young Scots put in an impressive performance to defeat Belgium 2-0 and battled to a 0-0 draw against Hungary last night. Ryan Duncan was an unused substitute in the game against Hungary.
Alfie Bavidge – Scotland U19s
Alfie came off the bench in all three of Scotland’s games as they advanced to the Elite Round qualifying as they look to progress to the U19 EUROS in Northern Ireland next year. The young Scots drew with Bulgaria in their opening game and went on to defeat Andorra and Serbia.
Jamie McGrath – Republic of Ireland
Jamie once again joined up with Ireland as they drew 2023 to a close. The midfielder came off the bench in the 55th minute as the Republic of Ireland lost 1-0 to The Netherlands in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in their final Euro qualifier. He played the full 90 minutes as the Irish drew 1-1 with New Zealand in Dublin last night in a friendly match.
Bojan Miovski – North Macedonia
Our no.9 started both of North Macedonia’s Group C qualifying matches against Italy and England. Bojan was substituted off at half-time as North Macedonia lost out 5-2 to Italy in Rome and was fouled in the build-up as North Macedonia were awarded a penalty in their 1-1 draw with England in Skopje.
Richard Jensen – Finland
Richard played the full 90 minutes as Finland narrowly defeated San Marino 2-1 in their final EURO qualifying match. He was joined on the pitch by his younger brother Fredrik who came on as a late substitute for the match in San Marino. Richard had been an unused substitute as Finland defeated Northern Ireland 4-0 in Helsinki on Friday night.
Slobodan Rubezic – Montenegro
Rubi had an international break to remember as he scored his first international goal for Montenegro against Hungary. In what was only his third cap for Montenegro, Rubi scored with a bullet header to give his side the lead. They eventually lost out to the hosts 3-1 in Budapest as their hopes for qualifying for EURO 2024 were extinguished. Rubi also played the full 90 minutes and helped his side to a clean sheet as they defeated Lithuania.
Duk – Cape Verde
Duk came off the bench as Cape Verde began their 2026 World Cup qualification with a 0-0 draw against Angola. He was an unused substitute as Cape Verde defeated Eswatini 2-0 in their second group qualifying match.
Our U18 full back, Brendan Hamilton also featured for Northern Ireland’s under 19 side in all three of their qualifying matches against Hungary, Czech Republic and Portugal as part of a UEFA Preparatory U19 Friendly Tournament.
