Stagecoach has joined forces with Aberdeen FC to offer all Dons fans living in Aberdeenshire discounted matchday travel to home games on its services as it announces a unique new partnership as Official Aberdeenshire Public Transport partner for Aberdeen FC.

With a shared commitment to supporting the local community, this new partnership will support the way fans in the Aberdeenshire area travel to and from Pittodrie Stadium on a matchday. Aberdeen FC have committed to enhancing their fans matchday experience and by teaming up with Stagecoach aim to eliminate any transport barriers for those fans traveling from further afield in the Aberdeenshire area ensuring easier access to their beloved venue.

The offer will officially launch this week ahead of a huge UEFA Conference group stage match against HJK Helsinki on Thursday 5th October with match ticket holders living in Aberdeenshire being sent an exclusive discount code by the club. The offer will be applicable to all forthcoming home matches.

Stagecoach will benefit from increased presence at Pittodrie Stadium with prominent branding across the club’s new LED boards.

Daniel Laird, Commercial Director for Stagecoach North Scotland, said: “We are excited to be joining forces with Aberdeen FC to launch this partnership which will really benefit Dons supporters across the region. Our exclusive discount will open up our entire network of bus services, making it easier for fans to enjoy a match at Pittodrie with family or friends.

“Travelling by bus to a match is a sustainable and healthy choice and thanks to this new partnership it’s a good choice for your wallet, too. And of course, younger Dons fans can already get on board for free, thanks to the Under 22 bus pass scheme.

“We’re looking forward to seeing lots of fans on board as we join Aberdeen FC in making a positive contribution to the local community.”

Robbie Hedderman, Aberdeen FC Business Development Manager, said: “As a club we are always looking at innovative way of making the matchday experience more accessible of our supporters, so I am delighted to have Stagecoach on board as our official Public Transport Partner for Aberdeenshire.

“Given Stagecoach are a lifeline service for many local communities, and with both companies being conscious of the cost-of-living crisis which many are facing, this opportunity for many supporters to travel to Pittodrie at a discounted rate is another example of the club working collaboratively with partners to make positive changes for our fans.
