Important Supporter Information | Eintracht Frankfurt

Important information for fans ahead of our match with Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday 21st September.

Supporters should take time to familiarise themselves with the following details including travel information, entering and leaving the stadium, items permitted in the stadium and in-stadium rules and regulations shared with us by Eintracht Frankfurt and the local authorities.

Ticket Collections:

Supporters are encouraged to collect match tickets from Pittodrie where possible. Collections will be from Pittodrie Stadium until 5pm on Tuesday 19th September.

Any tickets remaining will be available to collect from O’Reilly’s Irish Pub, Am Hauptbahnhof 4, 60329, Frankfurt from 12pm-4pm on Thursday 21st September.

Photo ID or passports will be required to collect tickets and there will be no reprints available.


Travel:

Frankfurt Airport is approximately 4km to the stadium and there are regional trains and direct buses to the city centre.

Buses, trains (S-Bahn) and trams run from Frankfurt city centre to the stadium grounds.


Recommended Fan Areas
in Frankfurt:

Please note, it is important that Aberdeen FC supporters keep to the North side of river.

Recommended Fan Areas are:

O’Reilly’s Irish Bar, Am Hauptbahnhof 4, 60329, Frankfurt. This can be found across from the main train station and offers food, drink and 12 big HD screens.

(Any tickets to be collected in Frankfurt will be available from O’Reilly’s Irish Pub from 12pm-4pm on matchday.)

Römerberg Square, offers a variety of licensed premises. The riverside has some nice places to eat and drink too.

Supporters are asked not to enter the river, it can be very dangerous.


Travelling to the stadium:

It is recommended that supporters travelling to the stadium from the city centre should go by train. Please note, your match ticket will allow you free travel on the train (buses and trams), to and from the stadium on matchday.

The trains depart from the Central Station and arrive at the stadium on a direct route. The police will escort supporters directly to the train and the stadium from the recommended fan areas.

Supporters not socialising in the recommended fan areas and who arrive at Frankfurt Main Central-Station by train or at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) should continue by taking the S-Bahn-lines S8 & S9, exiting at “Frankfurt Stadion”. There is then approx 800m walk to stadium. (Please allow at least 2 hours for train travel and stadium searches.)


Directions and parking

Coming from all directions, take the Autobahn A3. At the Frankfurt-Süd junction, change to the B44 towards Frankfurt-Stadtmitte/Stadion. From there, follow the signs to the stadium car parks. For the guest-cars and buses, parking space P9 is always available, which can be reached via Mörfelder Landstraße (out of town).

The parking fee for cars is 7 Euros and 25 Euros for Minivans with more than 7 Seats and Busses. The “Gleisdreieck” car park is reserved exclusively for home fans and should not be used by visitors.

Stadium:

The Deutsche Bank Park is particularly well connected to the public transport network and can be reached by bus, tram, subway and regional trains. Buses and trams are not recommended by the Police.

Please note, there are no bars or restaurants near the stadium.

Beverages and Food

In the away fan area, as in the entire stadium, beer is served with alcohol. Cash payment and a variety of Credit Cards will be accepted. Here are the prices for some of the foods and drinks from our caterer SSH:

  1. All stairways and safety gangways and emergency exits must remain unobstructed at all times.
  2. Visitors who are obviously under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs or carry weapons or any other dangerous items and who refuse to give them up to the control and security service, will also be excluded. As a general rule, visitors for whom a more than 1,6 blood alcohol content has been established, will be denied access to the Deutsche Bank Park.
  3. The following items are prohibited to any visitor who has entered into areas falling under the field of application of the rules and procedures of the Deutsche Bank Park:
  4. Weapons or dangerous items or devices which, when thrown at people can lead to injuries;
  5. Aerosols, caustic or colouring substances or gas containers of easily flammable or hazardous gases, pocket size lighters excluded;
  6. Containers of breakable or shattering material;
  7. Fireworks, missiles, Bengal lights, smoke bombs, flares, and other forms of pyrotechnic items;
  8. Flags-or banner poles not made out of wood or longer than 2 m or of more than 3 cm diameter;
  9. Large banners, double flag holders, paper in reams, wallpaper rolls;
  10. Mechanically or electrically-operated noise producing devices;
  11. Alcoholic beverages with more than 15% ABV (alcohol by volume) and drugs;
  12. Advertising material of a racist, xenophobic and extremist nature.
  13. Fans should not:-

Throw things.

Set fire or use fireworks, missiles, Bengal flares, smoke canisters, or any other pyrotechnical device;

Relieve oneself anywhere except in lavatories or to pollute in any other way the stadium in particular in throwing things or littering

Any damage caused will have to paid for by the individual or Aberdeen FC (if within the stadium).

Separation of fan groups:

Following the full time whistle, larger groups of fans will be required to wait for a short time in the Guest Area (Ostkurve, stand 19-21), facilities will remain open during this time. After the required waiting period, supporters will be accompanied by the police to their means of transportation.

Access control and permits:

The stadium entrances open two hours before the start of the game to the public. Aberdeen FC fans should enter the stadium through the entrance E2.

Every visitor will have to go through a thorough / full body-search and will have their tickets scanned afterwards.

Due to the large stadium-area and the long distances from the entrances to the stands, Aberdeen FC fans will be searched again at the entrance to the guest-section (section 20). There will also be some random controls behind the section-entrance.

Small bags up to a maximum total volume of 20 litres can be taken into the stadium, all larger backpacks and bags are not permitted, and there is no possibility to deposit them.

It is no problem to take along cameras/ digital cameras (up to a size of 20x12x12cm) for private use. Only one lens is permitted for cameras with interchangeable lenses. Video cameras are not allowed.

According to stadium rules, supporters are not allowed to bring certain objects (e.g. weapons, pyrotechnics etc.) into the stadium.

Entering the stadium pitch is strictly prohibited in Deutsche Bank Park unless instructed to do so by Police or Stewards.


Legal information from the German police:

 Pyrotechnics:

The carrying / using of pyrotechnics inside and outside the stadium is rated in Germany as a crime. Identified culprits must therefore expect a minimum of a fine.

Assembly law:

In Germany, the assembly law applies at football matches. According to this law, it is forbidden to hide identity through clothing items (e.g. balaclavas, masks, etc.) in the context of football matches. The mere carrying is a criminal act. Identified offenders will be fined.

In addition, the carrying of impact protection gloves and mouthguards is prohibited in Germany and will be punished with a fine.

Right-wing radical slogans / symbols:

According to the German Criminal Code, the use of slogans and the showing of symbols that have a reference to the Nazi period is prohibited. Violations are consistently prosecuted by the police and lead to corresponding penalties.

Banners and Flags with reference to rival German Football Clubs will be seen as inflammatory whether that is in public areas or at the stadium. These will not be permitted in the stadium.

AFC Stewards – In line with UEFA Safety and Security Regulations, Aberdeen FC are required to travel with a requisite number of Stewards. These are a mixture of AFC Staff Stewards and a private company. Some will be in the fan zone areas to be of assistance to anybody who needs it and some will travel to the stadium on the trains with supporters. Others will be situated at the Stadium and will await the arrival of the supporters. They are there to help the  Stadium Stewards and local Police. Please respect their role in the operation.
