Aberdeen will start life in SWPL1 in September as they welcome Celtic to Balmoral Park. They will then travel to play Forfar the following Sunday before a home fixture against fellow promoted side Hamilton Accies.

Ahead of the league season starting, in August Emma Hunter’s side will play four ties in the SWPL Cup with SWPL2 teams Boroughmuir Thistle and Queens Park joining Motherwell and Rangers in Aberdeen’s group.

Emma and the team are all looking forward to the upcoming campaign: “We are all excited for the new season. As soon as we lifted the SWPL2 trophy we were already thinking about SWPL1.

“It is great to be in the league. That was our ambition. We just need to continue to play the way that we do.”
