Mark Gallagher heads out on loan
Midfielder joins League Two side Forfar Athletic
Mark Gallagher has today joined League Two side Forfar Athletic on loan for the 2021/22 season.
The 20-year-old joined the Dons in January 2020 from fellow Premiership side Ross County, with the Newcastle-born youngster signing a two-and-a-half-year deal. The central midfielder had made his first team debut for the Dingwall club during the 2018/19 campaign.
Fellow Aberdeen youngster, Jack MacKenzie, benefited greatly from his spell at Station Park last season, and this loan deal will provide a platform for Mark to get some valuable game time.
The highly-rated player is likely to be the first of several young Dons heading out on loan this season as new Pathways Manager, Neil Simpson, explains:
“The impact of the pandemic last season severely restricted the opportunity for our younger players to play matches.
“This is an excellent chance for Mark to get some much-needed minutes in a competitive league.
“The balance of continuing to train with the first team, whilst also playing for Forfar, will undoubtedly aid his continued development.”
