Defender Jack MacKenzie signs new deal
Highly rated youngster commits future to the Dons
Jack MacKenzie has signed a new two-year contract extension at the club.
The 20-year-old defender, who has been with the Dons since the age of nine, is a product of the AFC Youth Academy and the SFA Performance School at Hazlehead.
Jack, who signed a two-year contract in June 2019, captained the development side and then featured on the bench for the first team on a number of occasions before he joined Forfar Athletic on loan at the start of the campaign to gain some valuable experience. Jack made 14 appearances for the Scottish League One side and was then recalled in January.
He was rewarded for all of his hard work when Paul Sheerin handed the left back his Aberdeen FC debut last time out against Dundee United at Tannadice.
A player that not only has great ability, but also a positive attitude and strong leadership skills, Manager Stephen Glass believes Jack has a bright future ahead of him:
“Jack is a young prospect we are really excited about, so I’m pleased he has committed his future to the Club.
“Having made his debut against Dundee United, he must now build on that opportunity and put everything into his continued development.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jack as he looks to fulfil his potential and build his career at Pittodrie.”
