Aberdeen FC staff are set to embark on a walking fundraiser for Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) as they aim to cover the distance of the round trip from Pittodrie to Hampden.

With the postponement of the scheduled trip to Hampden for the Scottish Cup Semi Final against Celtic earlier this year, the AFC staff are getting set for the journey anyway which will be complete with a virtual stop at The Horn down the A90.

#TeamTrek, made up of Ticket Office and Supporter Engagement Team staff, are stepping away from their desks after working from home to gain mileage each day, working towards a healthier lifestyle whilst raising funds for a cause very close to their hearts.

John Chalmers, Team Leader of #TeamTrek said, “With the lockdown continuing into 10 weeks now, energy and enthusiasm can waiver on the most positive of people so I thought “lets get the team out there, let them reset their minds”. Our trips to Hampden are a highlight of the year for a lot of us and that provides us with an achievable goal to do the round trip we would usually have been doing in April for the Semi Final.”

The money raised will be donated directly to AFCCT’s #StillStandingFree campaign which will enable even greater community outreach in the North-East.

With over £97,000 already raised from the Red Army, #TeamTrek are looking to fundraise £5,000 to exceed the £100,000 target and have so far raised nearly £600!
