Funso Ojo joins The Dons
Aberdeen FC can this evening confirm the signing of Funso Ojo from Scunthorpe United FC on a three-year deal.
The Belgian midfielder joined the English side from Willem II in 2017 and has since made 87 appearances and scored three goals for the Yorkshire team.
The 27-year-old made his Eredivisie debut in 2009 for PSV Eindhoven and had subsequent spells as Beerschot, Royal Antwerp and FC Dordrecht.
Commenting on the Dons eighth signing of the summer manager Derek McInnes said, “I couldn’t be more pleased to get Funso. He is a player who will fulfil a key position within my squad.
“He is a very talented player and I am delighted he has decided to come and work with us at Aberdeen FC. He is as excited as we are about working together and it is satisfying that he sees Aberdeen as the best platform for his future career.”
The midfielder – who is ineligible for the second leg of first qualifying Europa League match against RoPS Rovaniemi – will meet up and train with his new team mates tomorrow.
Everyone at AFC welcomes Funso to Pittodrie and wishes him every success during his career in the North-east.
