1 Favourite game?

My favourite game that I have been involved in was against Celtic on the final day of last season when we had to get a result to finish second in the league. I got thirty minutes which was a bit part of the game and to get the result was the most memorable moment for me.

I was not expecting to be playing! I did not expect it and if I was to play, I did not expect it to be half an hour.

I have played Celtic the most out of the first team games I have played. Since making my debut against them I have now played Celtic four times. It is just the way it has worked out and I feel I have played quite well against them.

Comparing the game last season, the recent Scottish Cup final was a bitterly disappointing experience. I was very disappointed with the game went but I need to try and take some positives from the afternoon, and for a young player who learn a lot from afternoons like that. It give you things to work on that will make you a better player. The next time we are in that position I will be better equipped to deal with it.

Playing at Hampden was a dream come true. Every kids want to play there one day. So for me to do it for my team was special. It is a bigger pitch, not the biggest I have played on, but wider than Pittodrie. The surface was very good which makes the ball go quicker so movements have to be faster.

2 Favourite goal?

My favourite goal I have ever scored would be back in the Youth Academy days when we played against Celtic and I scored from the half way line to win 2-1. It was quite a windy day and we had the wind at our backs. I found myself with a bit of time so I took the shot on and it floated over the keeper. It was a brilliant feeling!

My favourite goal I have ever seen, it would probably be Ronaldo’s overhead kick against Juventus in the Champions League last year. They needed a goal to go through and he has come up with one of the best pieces of quality that you will ever see.

3 Favourite thing to do away from football?

I spend a lot of time doing different things. I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my girlfriend. I have my play station and play against my mates. I also have a few TV srries that I watch. On days off when it is the right time I will sometimes have a round of golf.
The most important things on the days off is to switch off from football and chill out. Also the training schedule through the week can be tough on the legs so it is all about rest and recovery. By getting the feet up helps a lot.

4 Favourite TV programme and film?

Favourite TV programme would probably be Game of Thrones. I have not started watching the new series yet so please don’t tell me what is happening! And my favourite film is Inception.

5 Favourite item of clothing?

I am to be fair one of the tracksuit brigade. Most days I will put on a tracksuit. I am most comfortable in a Nike Tech tracksuit. So that would probably be my favourite item.

6 Who do you room with?

I have changed a few times this season. At the start I roomed with Bruce Anderson. In the middle I was changing between Connor McLennan and Lewis Ferguson and now I am settled with Ethan as he is now making all the squad.

I would like to think I am quite a good person to room with! We normally chill out and watch a film or whatever is on TV.

It has been a really successful season in terms of bringing young players through, you look at the success we have had. Bruce at the start of the season with his goal against Rangers, Connor coming through and being a starting XI player most weeks now and we forget that Fergie is still a young player as well. He has played almost every game and is arguably been the young player of the year in the SPFL. And then Miko and Ethan are on the fringes as well and their chances will come soon enough.

7 Best player in training?

I would go with what everyone else has put for this question – Graeme Shinnie. I think everyone has said Shinnie and I would agree with that. The intensity he brings to training everyday is so impressive. He is never not on it. He is always giving 100% and some of the quality he has as well is really good. For example in the finishing drills, he never misses the target, and he more often than not scores. So in terms of attitude towards training and consistency, I would say Shinnie.

In terms of quality and ball at the feet, Greg Stewart is really good in training. He is very good in one v one situations and creating a bit of magic. He comes up with some brilliant stuff in training.

8 Favourite other sport and sportsperson?

I am between two and don’t really know what to pick. I am a big golf fan and I have played it since I was young. I am quite decent and I play off a 13 handicap. Decent enough to get me round Newmachar where I play. I am a member out there. I have always followed all the tournaments. My favourite other sports person would be Rory McIlory. I just enjoy watching him, and I am big fan.

And then I also like watching basketball. I enjoy watching the NBA. It is difficult with the time different but I watch a lot of the highlights. I find it a really enjoyable sport to watch and the talent is incredible, so o the stuff they do. And then at the end of the game and the score is tight, and you need someone to come up with good baskets, it is brilliant to watch.

I don’t really have a team but I do like the Philadelphia 76ers. They used to be very poor but drafted a heap of young players and have steadily improved. This season they have made the play-offs which are on at the moment.

9 Person you would like to meet?

If it was a sports person it would probably like to meet Chavi and talk about he made it look so easy and how is always used to find space.

When I was growing up, my hero was Paul Scholes but I was also always a fan of Aberdeen and the players at that time were Scott Severin and Barry Nicholson. I started going to games when I was six. I started off in the Merkland and as I got a big stronger I went round to the South Stand!

My first game ever is a bit of weird story. It was against Hearts, I remember it was a win. Anyway the seat behind, me Neil Simpson was sitting there. At the time I did not know who Simmy was but it was incredible for my dad because he was his hero growing up so I got a photo with Simmy when I was about five. Little did I know then that I would work with Neil all the way through the Youth Academy. I still have the photo somewhere.

10 Most influential person on your career?

Both my parents. The time and dedication they have put towards my career – buying boots, washing training kit, talking me to all my games, coming to support me. They have both been so influential in helping me get where I am. I am very grateful for all the help they have given me.

They still come to as many games as they can. They give me a lot of encouragement. Sometimes my mum works on a Saturday but my dad goes to every first team game, whether I am playing or not. They are both big fans of the clubs.

They are proud of what I am doing at the moment and hopefully I can keep on making them prouder.
