Archie Knox to be inducted into AFC Hall of Fame
Aberdeen Football Club is delighted to announce that Archie Knox will be inducted into the AFC Hall of Fame in November.
Archie is a club legend and was a major part of the Club’s most successful era as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant manager. A true great of Scottish football history, Archie is highly regarded throughout the game.
During his time at Pittodrie, Archie helped the side win two Scottish Cups, the European Cup Winners Cup and European Super Cup. Archie would follow Sir Alex to Old Trafford and helped revive the fortunes of Manchester United before linking up with Walter Smith at Rangers, where more success would follow.
Another successful partnership was formed when Archie joined Craig Brown to lead the Scottish National Team. Archie would return to the Pittodrie dugout in 2011 alongside Craig and the duo would help lay the foundations for the current crop of players and management staff.
Archie has recently published his autobiography – The School of Hard Knox, which is available in the club shop and website. Before the St Johnstone game this Saturday at Pittodrie Archie will be on hand to sign his book in the reception area at 11am – 12.30pm.
At the Hall of Fame evening Archie will be taking part in a Q&A alongside fellow inductee and Gothenburg Great, Neale Cooper as well as the third inductee, which we will reveal soon.
Established in 2004, the AFC Hall of Fame recognises players and managers who have reached the pinnacle of their profession, making a significant contribution to the reputation of this great club.
Tickets for this prestigious event are now available and are priced at £79+ VAT and include a 3-course meal, Hall of Fame presentation and Q&A with the inductees.
