“I am delighted to eventually get it done, what has happened in the past has happened in the past. I always wanted to come here and I’m delighted it’s finally done, it’s been a long wait.

“As a player sometimes it gets taken out of your hands, you pretty much have to stand by and watch, it was an unfortunate situation that happened but the fact that I wanted to come here has never changed. I always wanted to come here, it is a massive club and as I said I just can’t wait to get started.

“Derek McInnes sold the Club to me. He didn’t really need to sell it to me though- I’ve played in Scotland long enough to get the idea of how big of a club Aberdeen is!

“He was great to talk to, I had a few conversations with him in the lead up to this and he came across very well. As I said I always wanted to sign here but he probably made me even more determined to sign.

“After it all happened I wanted to get my head down and continue catching his eye and I am thankful I have done that and I am looking forward to playing a big part.

“I’ve spoken to a few of the boys, obviously Graeme Shinnie and Jonny Hayes, Miles Storey, Adam Rooney. I’ve played against them over the years, they are all great lads and top players and it’s exciting to play with players like that, it’s what you want to do and it puts pressure on you as you want to do well for them as well as yourself. I am looking forward to getting started.

“I am delighted to be here, it’s been a long time coming but I am thankful and finally here.”
