Craig Storie goes out on loan
Aberdeen can confirm this afternoon that midfielder Craig Storie has joined St Mirren on loan until the of the season.
The paperwork has now been completed by both clubs.
The 20-year-old will join fellow Don Lawrence Shankland who is also on loan at the Championship side.
It brings to 10 the number of Aberdeen youngsters who are currently with other clubs. They are: Lawrence Shankland (St Mirren), Cammy Smith (Dundee united), Daniel Harvie (Dumbarton) Danny Rogers (Falkirk), Aaron Lennox (Raith Rovers), Robbie Mutch (Arbroath), Joe Nuttall (Stranraer), Scott McKenna (Ayr United), Connor McLennan (Brechin City)
Craig grew up in Carluke in South Lanarkshire and has been with Aberdeen since the age of 10. He was coached in the AFC Youth Academy’s Glasgow Centre by former Aberdeen legend Peter Weir. He then joined the Dons as a full time professional despite being chased by a number of big clubs at the time including Manchester United.
On 27 April 2013 Storie made his professional debut for Aberdeen in a league match against Kilmarnock. In November 2013, Craig signed a one-month loan deal with Forfar Athletic and on 30 January 2015, Storie joined Brechin City on loan for the remainder of the 2014–15 campaign.
Last season he featured prominently through January and February for the first team, starring as the anchor in midfield in Aberdeen’s 2-1 win over Celtic. His performances were rewarded with a new contract.
Craig, who captained the Scotland School Boys side, has represented Scotland at all the various youth levels and played for the Scotland U21s this season.
The midfielder will officially join St Mirren on the 8th of January and will go into their squad for the Dunfermline Athletic match on the 14th.
