Lawrence Shankland re-joins the Buddies on loan

Lawrence Shankland has this evening joined St Mirren on loan. The Aberdeen striker will spend the season with the Championship side.

Loaned out to St. Mirren last season, the 20-year-old managed to strike 10 goals in 32 games for the Buddies.
Lawrence came to Aberdeen’s attention whilst playing as a 17-year-old in the Third Division during the 2012-13 season. He made 38 appearances for Queens Park, scoring 15 times including against Rangers at Hampden Park. After impressing for the U20s during the first half of the 2013-14 season, scoring eight goals, Lawrence then joined Dunfermline Athletic on loan for the remainder of the season. At East End Park he netted 7 times in 14 appearances.

In 2014-15 Lawrence played a major part in helping Paul Sheerin’s side win the SPFL Development League. Making 31 appearances he scored an incredible 30 goals, including a memorable hat-trick against Celtic.
Shankland made his first team debut for Aberdeen on 27th September 2014, in a 3–2 victory against Inverness CT. To date he has made 17 appearances for the Aberdeen first team.

Lawrence also has made two appearances for the Scotland U21s.

The forward joins fellow Dons youngsters Cammy Smith, Aaron Lennox, Robbie Mutch, and Danny Rogers who are also out on loan this season. Everyone at Pittodrie wishes Lawrence well at New St Mirren Park.
