Willo Flood on RedTV
Adam Rooney played his 100th game for the club on Saturday and the next player approaching that landmark is Willo Flood. The midfielder made his 99th appearance against Motherwell at Pittodrie. After the game the midfield spoke to RedTV:
“I thought we played really well and dominated the game.
“Motherwell have been a hard team to play against this season. I think Mark McGhee has done a really good job to turn the fortunes of the club around. They are the inform side in Scotland at the moment. So to get a 4-1 win was a great result and we could even have scored a few more on the day.
“It was a very good team performance.
“Everyone in the team played their part. Everyone played well. The manager has been on us and telling us not to let our standards slip. We all turned up on Saturday and showed that when these Aberdeen players turn up we are a very strong side and hard to beat.
“Jonny Hayes was once again superb. He is not bad is he?! Jonny has been brilliant all season and for me he has been the best player in the league.
“It has been a good season. We will look back at it and say that we have done well but I think we maybe could have done better. I am sure all the lads in the changing room feel the same.
“I am sure the manager will bring in a few players to make the team better next season. With Derek McInnes in charge you know the club will always go forward.
“A few boys will come in, a few will leave but I am sure the club will continue to progress and continue to go forward in stature.
“We also have some very good young players coming through.
“If I am not playing and young player takes my place, instead of feeling down I am buzzing for the young lad to be honest. That was the case when Craig Storie was playing. He has come into the team and done very well. Scott Wright did well on Saturday, I thought Connor McLennan did brilliantly last week in Perth in a difficult situation when the chips were down. There is also Scott McKenna in the background and there is Frank Ross and a few others coming through.
“So there is a lot to look forward to and to be positive about.”
