Andrew Driver Media Conference

12 March 2015

The Dons latest recruit spoke to the media on Thursday

“I am absolutely delighted with the move.

“I have obviously only got a short period of time to prove myself. I have eleven weeks to hopefully work hard and contribute to a team that are doing well. I have really enjoyed the short time I have been here. I can see it is a really really good club. It is run well. It is now up to me to go out and show what I can do.

“I went to America, kind of out of sight and out of mind. I really enjoyed it and I think while I was out there I improved as a player. America was a great experience. The MLS is an underrated league. It is definitely up and coming. It was very tough. There was a lot of travelling involved.

“The last couple of years in Scotland was a tough time and I maybe didn’t reach the level that I wanted to but I’ve come back now and I’ve got a renewed vigour and I want to go and prove a point really.

“I feel I have some unfinished business in Scotland.

“It was well known that I was prone to a few injuries when I was younger. Since I was out there and the work I did, I never even missed a training session last year. So me coming back and being in the situation where injuries aren’t an issue I feel I can go and give 100% in every training session then it will make me a better player in general.

“I knew before I came here that the team was going to be a top team. In the short time I have been in Aberdeen there is a real buzz about the training. There is some top quality players in the squad.

“I am confident in my own ability.”

AFC this afternoon received international clearance for Andrew and he has been allocated squad number 29.
