Andrew Driver on REDTV
Andrew Driver this afternoon signed a contract with the Dons until the end of the season. The midfielder can be involved in the squad once AFC receives International clearance for the player.
After training today Andrew sat down and spoke exclusively to REDTV:
…“For me personally it is a difficult time (of the season) to get back in so I am very grateful to the manager and the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity.
…“I am hoping to come in and repay them for taking that chance. I am just looking forward to now getting my head down and working hard. I can concentrate fully on playing football.
… “However old you are going into a new dressing room or place of work can be hard but everyone made an effort to make me very welcome. There is a real good team spirit here. Going away to the training camp in Tenerife was good for me. There was more opportunities for me as the new guy to speak to people so the timing of the trip was ideal.
… “Aberdeen is a massive club and the team have been doing fantastic this season. From what I have seen in training the guys look like a top team. I am really enjoying being involved with those guys.
… “The manager is also a big reason I am here. He is someone you want to play for.
… “As a player you want to aim as high as you can and test yourself. Aberdeen are doing so well at the moment so I am looking forward to being involved as much as I can. I am not guaranteed to play games and know that I will have to work hard.
… “At all good teams there is competition for places. Competition can drive the team on.
… “At this stage of my career I feel it is time for me to kick on. I know there are only 11 games left but I will come in and work hard and hopefully, me helping the team out, will help me as well.
… “I am really looking forward to the next couple of months.”
