“I felt the Celtic game was a missed opportunity. Our first half performance was not the best and we never really created anything clear-cut. The second half we were much, much better, even though they scored a second within seconds of the restart. Strangely enough, I think it relaxed us a bit more when they went 2-0 up because the pressure was off a bit, if that makes sense. We then went on to create a good few chances and with a bit more luck and if a few decisions had gone our way, we might have come away with something. I thought we deserved something from the game.
“There are positives for us to take from that game for the remainder of the season.
“It was also good to see David Goodwillie getting his first goal for the club. I think he will go from strength to strength now. He just needs games.
“I was also pleased to get an assist for David’s first goal for the club! The manager does encourage me to go forward and if there is a chance of Shay crossing it, the manager wants his opposite full-back to get in the box.”
“I know people are frustrated because of the way we finished last year and the way we have started but I have absolute faith in the boys that we will get back on track over the next couple of weeks and have a very good season.
“The next four games are massive, no doubt about that. If we can go on a good run up until the next international break then it will set us up nicely for the winter months, a period we did very well last season.”
