Barry Robson | Celtic Press Conference
Barry Robson carried out his final pre-match media duties of 22/23 when he spoke to the media on Friday lunchtime to preview our game with Celtic. Watch the press conference in full on RedTV through the video above.
Question: Barry, how do you reflect on what was an incredible night on Wednesday?
Answer: “I think the performance was very good. The players put themselves in a wonderful position and they managed to grasp it with two hands, the performance and the way they played and I think they deserve a huge amount of credit for how they have performed.
“The message was clear today at training that the season isn’t over yet, we’ve got a huge game tomorrow. The sign of a good team is to go right to the very end and we need to go right to the very end because Celtic Park is probably one of the hardest places you’ll ever go to play football against an Ange Postecoglou team who are relentless in the way that they play. We need to be right at it tomorrow.”
Q: You’ve had some great nights as a player but was Wednesday night right up there in terms of the significance of everyone involved?
A: “As a manager compared to a player it’s good to see everyone else enjoying it. The fans, the players, the families, that’s what gives me satisfaction rather than for yourself. They were fantastic. The crowd were amazing once again. The crowd took the players with them, it was a good result for us.”
Q: European football is confirmed for next year, we will wait and see what stage that is at but it gives the fans some great days to look forward to?
A: “Yes, you’re right we need to wait and see where we are at with the Scottish Cup final between Inverness and Celtic, we don’t have absolute clarity about where we are. We will have European football here. It is brilliant for the fans, they have stuck by this team all season, they deserve it and hopefully we can go and put a good account of ourselves wherever we are in Europe.”
Q: You won’t be taking Celtic lightly but they themselves haven’t had the best run lately. How desperate are you to end the season on a high?
A: “Of course we are and so are Celtic. They have got another game coming after that, a cup final. I’m sure all of their players will be at it. I mean, how good they’ve been this season under Ange Postecoglou has been phenomenal with what they’ve achieved so far and they are a really difficult team to play against. We need to go down there and we need to be brave defensively. We also need to be brave to attack them when we can at the right moment.”
Q: How is your team news, how is Bojan Miovski?
A: “Bojan is going to see a specialist on Monday so we will hopefully get a lot more clarity on him then. Obviously Liam Scales can’t play in the game so I need to make a few changes. I’m sure will the boys who will come in will do well. It is what they’ve done the whole time when we’ve needed them.”
