Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has been named Ladbrokes Premiership manager of the month for August.

The Dons boss collected his award at Pittodrie today in recognition of his side’s 100% winning start to the season. Aberdeen have won all five of their league matches last month, equalling the record start to a campaign. The only other time the Dons have won their opening five games was in 1984-85. Aberdeen beat Dundee United,

Kilmarnock, Motherwell, Dundee and Partick Thistle to collect maximum points, scoring nine goals and conceding just one.

It is the fourth time McInnes has been awarded the accolade, having been recognised previously for his efforts at Pittodrie in September 2013, February 2014 and December 2014.
