DA (Drugs Action), the North East’s leading charity who specialise in helping individuals and family members affected by drug and alcohol use, is pleased to host Aberdeen’s first ever Recovery Star Awards.

The event will celebrate the positive personal achievements of people who have struggled with substance dependency in Aberdeen. The DA Recovery Star Awards will take place on Friday 28th November from 12-2pm at the Citadel at the Castlegate in Aberdeen.

Luan Grugeon, DA’s Chief Executive said “It is really exciting to be hosting these awards in Aberdeen to recognise people’s personal achievements in their recovery journeys from drug and alcohol problems.  I hope the event will showcase that people in Aberdeen are recovering and not only that, but people in recovery can achieve great things.  Perhaps this will give hope to others and encourage more people to come to DA for help with alcohol or drugs to begin their own recovery journey.”

The event is being supported by AFC and AFC community Trust, with Craig Brown and Angus the Bull both making appearances at the event.
